Lesley Pyke

I found an amazing glass artist today, Lesley Pyke does high detailed pieces of work. I selected the pieces below as they represent the fragility of nature, an idea i have aimed to put across in my work.

To create the piece below Lesley kept the glass cullet in its raw state, only smoothing the sharp edges. In this piece, named 'Endangered' she hand engraved 13 different endangered invertebrates!

  

I feel the leaves carved into the glass bowls below relate very strongly to my glass etching and work i am currently producing. I love the way the leaves appear to flow through the layers of the piece.
